The faith is knowledge within the heart, beyond the reach of proof."

Khalil Gibran

I wish you a fabulous 2020. May the new year bring joy, health, good luck and success for you and your loved ones.

The start of a new year! Are you excited? Are you looking forward to new chances? Is it going to be your year? Do you have faith in 2020?

The power of faith really is brilliant. Medicine is a great example. We all have heard more than ones about the placebo effect. What is a placebo? A placebo is usually a substitute for the real medication but contains nothing natural or chemical that has real healing powers. A placebo is often made of dextrose or a saline solution.

During a placebo trial no one, neither the patients nor the doctors or nurses, know who is getting the actual medication and who gets the placebo. Researchers do this to proof that the medicine being tested is working. In practice those trials proof again and again that placebo heals from 10 up to 100% of patients, depending upon the illness and the nature of the trial. Most scientists agree that the belief in being healed is a huge factor in the healing process. Researchers guess that the placebo effect heals approximately 1/3 of all patients. This means that our faith in a medication actually is often enough to heal us. How brilliant is this?!

This is nothing new, already the bible reports about healing through sheer faith:

“… the blind men came to him. And Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ They said to him, ‘Yea, Lord.’ Then he touched their eyes, saying, ‘According to your faith, be it unto you.’ And their eyes were opened.” (Matthew 9:28)

Now, you won’t be astonished when I tell you that faith is not only helpful in medicine and physical healing, but in all areas of our life. Also, in having a fabulous new year, filled with happiness, health, good luck and success.

For the ones of you who have been reading my blogs over the last few years it will not come as a surprise when I state that all starts with you. When you have faith in yourself, you can also have faith in the New Year.

Just remember President Obama’s motto of his first campaign, “Yes, we can!” He had faith that he/they can make it … and he came, he saw and he conquered … twice.

How do you have faith in yourself? Is it something you do have, or you don’t?

Let’s find out.

Do you remember the last time you had faith into yourself?

Or do you know someone who has unshakeable faith in themselves?

No?

Babies and small kids have remarkable faith in themselves. They do not doubt themselves. They do not question their talents and strengths. They do not challenge their wishes and dreams. They do not care what others think. They do not judge their actions as inadequate. It would never cross their minds that someone else could judge them.

As kids we know how to enjoy ourselves, we know how to have fun. We think we are the center of the world and everything evolves around us. We forgive easily. We accept and love ourselves the way we are.

Let me tell you a secret: If you do not have faith in yourself, no one will. Vice versa, when you have utterly and complete faith in yourself, everything will fall into place; and so will 2020.

Now, that we know that we are all born with a steadfast faith in ourselves and the world, we know that we all have it in us. We just need to dig our faith up again, polish it up a little bit and let ourselves shine.

How?

Self-confidence and self-love are the basic of it all.

A few tips

Concentrate on what you want. Do more of what you like and less of what you don’t like. Be aware of your talents and strengths and use them to your advantage. Be grateful for what you have and be proud of what you achieve. Focus on all the positive things in your life. Relax. Have fun. Be nice to yourself, treat yourself like you would treat your best friend, etc.

Long story short make sure you take good care of yourself. Enjoy life to the full and follow your heart. This is how you nurture your self-confidence and self-love. This way you will start having more and more faith in yourself.

I wish you all a wonderful 2020 filled with gorgeous moments and interesting encounters.

Be well.

Yours,

Sibylle
